What is machine translation?
Machine translation is the translation of text by a computer, with no human involvement. The best example of a free MT online is Google Translator. Don't trust it for quality translations. MT can only translate word for word. This means MT can only translate the meaning of each single word instead of translating the meaning of a whole phrase or sentence. It's inadequate and sometimes completely misleading to translate a text word for word. This kind of translation will never give the full meaning and flavor of a text.
